Well, after getting my tonsils out two weeks ago, I’m finally getting back to normal. I had a bit of an unpleasant time last Sunday when I ended up in casualty after starting to bleed, so I had to go back into hospital for two nights, where they made me gargle with hydrogen peroxide every two hours. That tasted like what hamsters smell like. It was absolutely disgusting. And it’s a bleach solution so you’re not allowed to swallow it. I know it sounds stupid but every time I was gargling with it I was panicking about swallowing some!
Anyway, I’m off my 16 tablets a day now, the pain’s mostly gone, and I start back at work tomorrow. I’ll be working up a format bible for a format I came up with that we’ve sold to BBC Worldwide – their aim is to sell the programme format around the world. I’ll also be looking at casting a series I’ve got commissioned for next year. More on that later! Finally I’ll also be trying to get another programme I’ve been working up commissioned. So it’s not really any programme making for me for a couple of weeks at least.
I’m quite looking forward to getting back to work as I’ve been going a bit mad just sitting in my flat. I’ve really really missed going swimming – it’s been a month now, and in the last week before I went in for my op, I’d managed to do 1000 lengths in a week. It’ll take me a while to get back up to that I reckon. But I’m not allowed to go swimming or go out for another week. At least I’ll get out my flat during the day to be at work though!
